March 22-23. Other unscheduled releases depend on heavy rainfall in the area.

Mongaup, NY/NJ (10:00am - 2:00pm) (alternating Saturday and Sunday): 2003 Releases:

The Mongaup also tends to have enough water in it to paddle on hot days -- because the dam releases are used to generate power for NYC. The dam hotline number is 914-577-3451, but it's unclear how frequently this is updated. The regular number for announced release dates is 914-577-2911.

There's also a hotline for NY River Levels; by dialing 1-800-452-1742 and selecting #365123, you can find out the current Salmon level. Final confirmation for any NY release is available from the DEC office in Albany: contact Murali Muralidahr st 518-457-8973.

Upper Youghiogheny, Friendsville, MD: 2002 Releases:

The scheduled Saturday releases are May 4, May 25, June 1, July 6 August 3, September 7, and October 5. The times for scheduled Saturday releases are 10:00 to 13:00.

Monday and Friday releases start on April 15 and end on October 15; these releases are also from 10:00 to 13:00.

The Upper Yough race is scheduled for TBD with a release from 9:00 to 13:00.

Monday, Saturday, and the race release may be cancelled if the lake level is too low.

To be sure a scheduled whitewater release will occur, check the "weekly" recording at 814-533-8911. If the tape has been updated and a release is given on the tape, then the release will happen. Sometime the tape does not get updated and a scheduled release is happening.

Deerfield, Charlemont, MA: Monroe Bridge section (Dryway): 2003 Releases:
Probable: Friday releases are for four hours and begin at 11 a.m.
Saturday releases last five hours and begin at 10 a.m.
Sunday releases are three hours beginning at 11 a.m.
Flows are from 900 to 1100 CFS.
